Big Day Out, Fusion Asia/Nazrul Project Commission
The weekend of 10th and 11th July saw Arun Ghosh appear in two very different contexts in Bracknell.
Firstly the Arun Ghosh Quartet played as part of the 'Big Day Out' festival in South Hill Park - here's a nice little review (although it was Nilesh Gulhane on tabla!).
On the Sunday, Arun Ghosh presented the fruits of a special commission appearing with British-Bengali singer Sohini Alam and other guest musicians as part of the Fusion Asia Festival, again held in Bracknell's South Hill Park.
The Nazrul Project – Songs of a Rebel Poet saw Ghosh reworking and rearranging the songs of the Bengali poet, musician and revolutionary, Kazi Nazrul Islam for 21st Century audiences.
The Arun Ghosh summer schedule continues with details coming soon for August dates including Greenbelt Festival and Halifax.
